Medical aestheticsPLLA liquid facelift
A poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) product placed beneath the skin to stimulate the body's own collagen production. It is a non-surgical method; a consultation is held beforehand.
What it is used for
- Facial volume loss and sagging
- Hollow cheeks and temples
- A less defined jawline
- Reduced skin quality and firmness
- Laxity of the neck and décolletage
- Loss of facial fat caused by illness or medicines (lipoatrophy)
What plla liquid facelift is
PLLA is a substance that dissolves in the body over time and stimulates new collagen around it. Unlike a filler, it does not add volume immediately but builds it gradually over weeks through collagen production. For this reason it is usually given in several sessions. The areas and number of sessions are determined at the consultation.
Who it is suitable for
Suitability is determined at the consultation, which takes account of general health, current medicines and any chronic conditions.
The conditions listed at the top of the page are assessed at the consultation. A condition appearing in the list does not mean the procedure will be carried out for it, or that a result will follow; the decision is made after the consultation.
