Medical aestheticsBBL laser
BroadBand Light (BBL) targets pigmentation, redness and broken capillaries and improves skin quality. A consultation is held beforehand.
What it is used for
- Sun spots and age spots
- Freckles
- Facial redness and broken capillaries
- Rosacea
- Active acne and post-acne redness
- Uneven, dull skin tone
- The appearance of pores and fine lines (skin rejuvenation)
What bbl laser is
BBL is a device that emits intense light at different wavelengths. The light is absorbed by pigment (spots) and blood vessels (redness) in the skin; spots darken and flake off within a few days and capillaries fade. With regular sessions skin tone evens out and skin quality improves. Filters and settings are determined at the consultation according to skin type.
Who it is suitable for
Suitability is determined at the consultation, which takes account of general health, current medicines and any chronic conditions.
The conditions listed at the top of the page are assessed at the consultation. A condition appearing in the list does not mean the procedure will be carried out for it, or that a result will follow; the decision is made after the consultation.
